Taking the excellent performance and convenient functions of the SC-55 Sound Canvas a step further, the new SC-55mkII offers 28-voice polyphony and 354 sounds. It comes complete with a MIDI interface so you can directly link the SC-55mkII with a personal computer via a serial port. The SC-55mkII conforms to General MIDI (GM) and Roland's GS Format, so it's compatible with song data created for the original SC-55, as well as giving you fantastic results with commercially available GM and GS Standard MIDI Files.

  8. The powerful combination of 16-Part multitimbral capability and 28-voice polyphony lets you play back fully orchestrated compositions on a sequencer like the SB-55 or any computer-based sequencing system.

An amazing 354 sounds are built into the SC-55mkII. In addition, there are nine dynamic-sounding drum sets and a Sound FX set. With such an extensive selection, there is almost no limit to the types of music or the complexity of orchestration you can play. Among the many sound editing parameters are vibrato, cut-off frequency, resonance, and envelope for flexible sound editing.

  13. MIDI INTERFACE CONNECTS DIRECTLY TO YOUR COMPUTER

The SC-55mkII incorporates an RS-422/RS-232C personal computer interface and features a computer connector on the rear panel. This allows the SC-55mkII to connect directly to your IBM AT/compatible or Macintosh computer via an appropriate cable. The versatility engineered into the SC-55mkII makes it one of the most user-friendly sound modules available for computer applications.
